Diane Turner, Senior Consultant and Founder of Anthias Consulting, will be speaking at Lab Innovations 2016, within the Royal Society of Chemistry Theatre.
The event, now in its fifth year, has established itself as the leading exhibition dedicated to laboratory professionals, with over 2000 industry professionals set to attend. This year’s show is on 2nd - 3rd November at the NEC in Birmingham.
The Royal Society of Chemistry theatre returns with a packed seminar programme of some diverse and inspiring topics including sessions by two of the world’s leading speakers in the industry, Professor Jim Al-Khalili and BBC science presenter, Greg Foot.
Diane will deliver a training presentation, entitled ‘Sampling methods – Splendid, Salubrious, Succinct or just Simple?’ on Wednesday 2 November 2016 2:45PM to 3:30PM.
The session will give an overview of the different sampling and sample preparation methods that can be automated onto a gas chromatograph (and beyond).
Techniques that will be included are headspace and purge-and-trap, SPME and SPE, thermal desorption and pyrolysis, automated liquid-liquid extraction and derivatisation. Discussion topics will include how to select the best technique for your application and, from concise & simple methods to complexity vs. reward.
