Meet your training goals in 2018

Last year in our annual prize draw, we asked you "Why would you like to attend an Anthias Training Course?"

We received many insightful replies including:

"Anthias Consulting provides high quality, comprehensive courses that include the hands-on practical laboratory sessions. I appreciate Anthias consultants' professionalism, dedication and a very nice atmosphere throughout the course." Katarzyna Piskorczyk, Scientist

"As Anthias is approved by RSC and they have the expertise in working with all the instruments manufacture.  I think the training course is suitable for the all the chemist." Nirubiha Aravinthan, Laboratory Manager

"I will like to attend Anthias training because of their experience in training which I got to know from a friend that attended a training facilitated by Anthias in Nigeria this year." Isaac Awonyemi, Laboratory Technologist

Anthias Consulting prize draw goody bagThere were 4 prizes on offer of a goody bag from Anthias Consulting and partners; containing a ceramic scoring wafer, a pen and bag.

In addition, the star prize on offer was the chance to attend an Anthias Consulting training course of the winner's choice.

The winner of the top prize was Lucy Coppin from University of Surrey. Lucy entered to try to win a place on an Anthias training course, stating: "I have attended the basic one day course and would love to continue learning in such a knowledgeable environment.  The folder provided is concise and very helpful and I think the further courses would be invaluable to me."

Lucy stated her training goal for the coming year was to “increase my troubleshooting ability and background knowledge of GC-MS.”

Lucy chose a 5-day hands-on course at The Open University delivered by Anthias Consulting trainers Dr Imran Janmohamed BEng PhD MRSC and Richard Stokes BSc MSc CCHEM MRSC.

Upon completing the course, Lucy rated the course 5 out of 5 across all areas, including the knowledge of the presenters and quality of materials presented. Lucy commented: “(I enjoyed) the combination of classroom and laboratory work.”

Later, upon her return to work, Lucy contacted Anthias again because she wanted us to know the impact that the training had on her ability and confidence with the instrumentation:

"I thought I would email you quickly because this morning I came into work and the GCMS had stopped running over night.  Although it was not something we had covered directly in the course last week, my new insight enabled me to figure out what was going on (it was very minor!), rectify it and restart it.  Two weeks ago I would not have had the confidence to start looking for the issue, so I wanted to tell you and thank you again."

Lucy's comments confirm the strong practical and application focus of all Anthias Consulting's training courses; both theoretical classroom-based course through to practical hands-on training. All courses are delivered face-to-face by practicing analytical chemists, enabling delegates to interact with the trainer and clarify understanding through question and answer sessions.

The majority of Anthias Consulting’s scheduled courses are approved by the Royal Society of Chemistry for the purposes of Continuing Professional Development (CPD); so not only can you be sure of the quality of the content and delivery, but courses contribute to your formal professional development.
