Dr Diane Turner, Senior Consultant and Director, PhD FRSC
Diane Turner is the Founder, Director and Senior Consultant of Anthias Consulting. A Warwick University Graduate, Diane completed her Masters in analytical chemistry working on LC-MS and GC-MS. Diane started her career in environmental chemistry, later on gaining significant experience as an Applications Chemist. She has developed methods for, given support and high quality training for companies in most industries around the world for the past 20 years. Diane is a visiting Academic & Consultant at The Open University where she continues her disease diagnosis research from her PhD along with food, drug and space applications. Diane is President of the Royal Society of Chemistry Analytical Division Council and Chair of the Analytical Chemistry Trust Fund. She is a Trustee of the Recycling Organisation for Research Opportunities (RORO). Diane is on the Building Effective Analytical Measurement (BEAM) panel and the Industry Advisory Board of the Community for Analytical Measurement Science (CAMS). Diane is a member of the Government Chemist Programme Expert Group (GCPEG).
Richard Stokes, Consultant and Trainer BSc MSc CCHEM FRSC
Richard Stokes joined Anthias Consulting in 2015 in the role of Consultant and Trainer. Richard holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Chemistry and an MSc in Analytical Chemistry. Richard has over 20 years' experience in GC-MS and other analytical methodologies largely gained from work within food and environmental contract laboratories. Several senior operational roles have fostered a keen interest in method miniaturisation using GC-MS and other techniques.
Dr Giles Edwards MChem PhD MRSC
Giles joined Anthias Consulting in 2017 to assist with the development of HPLC and LC/MS training and troubleshooting course material. Giles obtained his MChem master of chemistry degree from Liverpool John Moores University concentrating on analytical chemistry and PhD from the University of Manchester. Giles has more than 15 years’ experience within the fields of mass spectrometry and the separation sciences working in industry, academia and the third sector. Past roles have included working as director of a multidisciplinary scientific research centre and also working around the world as a mass spectrometry escalation engineer troubleshooting issues with both instrumentation and application method development. Giles is Technical Director & Founder Trustee of the Recycling Organisation for Research Opportunities (RORO).
Dr Simon Thain
Dr Simon Thain has over 25 years experience in biochemical analysis including techniques such as HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, FT-IR, and Mass Spectrometry. After undertaking a biology degree at Stirling University, Simon obtained his MSc at Newcastle and PhD in plant Circadian at Warwick University. Working in both academia and industry for consultancy and novel IP generation, he specialises in analytical techniques for Metabolomics and structural elucidation studies along with Chemometrics applied to biology, natural product discovery and Biomarker discovery.
Alana Thompson, Website and Marketing Manager
Alana started her career in Marketing via a modern apprenticeship before going on to study with the Chartered Institute of Marketing. Later, Alana joined her family firm where she created her first website, sparking a career path in web development. Alana's role at Anthias Consulting enables her to combine her marketing experience and technical knowledge, to continually improve the company website and communications.
