Developing analytical methods for the Environment Agency

Anthias Consulting is working with Anthony Gravell of the Environment Agency's National Laboratory Service (EA-NLS) and the Applied Science and Technology Group (ASTG) of The Open University to evaluate the potential of comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography - mass spectrometry (GCxGC) for the analysis of contaminants present in UK rivers.

Mr Gravell is a Technical Specialist developing and verifying new methods for the analysis of target compounds as specified by The Water Framework Directive. The methods developed by this team are implemented in EA-NLS laboratories nationally.
