Job Vacancy: Internal Sales Specialist

We are currently seeking an Internal Sales Specialist. This is a full-time or nearly full-time, flexible role working from the Cambridge office, 2018 start.

This is a great opportunity for a chemistry or scientific graduate or more experienced analytical chemist to move into a scientific sales role. Experience working in a target driven commercial role is preferred but not essential.

This role is office based near to Cambridge working closely with the field based team and we are happy to consider applicants looking for a full-time or part-time role, with a minimum of 20 hours per week.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking for challenges in a small company environment but with flexible working hours, particularly if they have other commitments.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:   

  • Maintaining existing business opportunities and developing excellent relationships with customers.
  • Identifying and developing new business opportunities
  • Monitoring competitor activity, market trends and gaining business insight.
  • Attending industry events as required with occasional customer visits.
  • Maintaining company contacts database and development of a new CRM.
  • Supporting the consultants and trainers, sales, marketing and administration teams as required.
  • Complying with the Company’s health and safety policy as well as other policies set out in the company handbook

Requirements:

  • Self-driven, dynamic, motivated individual able to develop own ideas.
  • Able to communicate clearly, listen to and answer questions from customers.
  • Customer focused and comfortable interacting with people.
  • Must be well presented both on the phone and in person.
  • Must be organised, able to prioritise work, have responsibility for completing work with little management and be happy to work both in a team and as an individual.
  • Must be adept in computer literacy, able to use Microsoft Office, internet, email and happy to learn new skills.
  • Have a minimum of a Bachelors degree in science, ideally in Chemistry.
  • Have some sales experience (this could include call centre, retail sales, student jobs, etc.)
