Anthias Consulting's Diane Turner delivered a presentation filled with tips to boost GC method productivity to delegates at the Advances in Gas Chromatography GC VI conference in The Heath Business and Technical Park, Runcorn on 18th October 2017.
The 1-day conference was well attended by delegates from across a wide range of industries who gathered to hear speakers deliver insights into instrumentation innovations and method development case studies including residual solvent methods in pharmaceuticals, allergen analysis in the fragrance industry and a predictive software package available.
What came across clearly is that users are united by common challenges and difficulties, some of which test the boundaries of the technique and are opportunities for instrument innovation, but many problems can be overcome or eliminated by chemists with a sound, comprehensive understanding of the chemical principles that underlie the technique of gas chromatography.
Diane wrapped up the day by summarising the key points from many of the presentations given on the importance of considering the fundamental chemistry when setting up and improving methods to obtain the best result as efficiently as possible. Anthias Consulting have been transferring this knowledge and understanding to chemists all around the world for more than 12 years in their high quality training courses which teach in the classroom, as well as hands-on, the theory and practice of GC, GC-MS, LC and LC-MS.
