Feedback from the 'Advances in Gas Chromatography' seminar

The joint Chromatographic Society and RSC seminar on 'Advances in Gas Chromatography' took place at Runcorn last week with a full house!

There was an extensive and varied list of speakers from manufacturers, suppliers and analysts and a good turn-out in the instrument exhibition rooms, with engaging and knowlegeable representatives.

Among the topics covered were columns, microfluidics, GCxGC, mass spectrometers and sample preparation techniques across a wide range of applications, giving people much to think about.

With over 200 delegates attending and people being turned away, this proved to be a very popular event. Over a long lunch break there was plenty of opportunity to chat with both delegates and reps, with much to discuss. Indeed, a whole day could have been spent attentively listening to speakers and another day discussing problems and ideas!

After a very enjoyable event we look forward to the next UK meeting entirely focused on Gas Chromatography and it's related techniques which hopefully will not be too far in the distant future!
